Pathfinder is taking the circuitous route
Sep. 3rd, 2012 12:10 amPathfinder re-write[1]: 10300 words (not bad for one weekend's work! And 10k was the length that the original Pathfinder was supposed to max out at...)
[1] After fighting the urge to re-write the written parts of this for five years, I caved completely when Rufus came up with a one-liner that crystallised everything and made me fling everything except the outline out of the window. Again.
[2] I haven't decided whether to break for Chapter 2 yet. This was supposed to be a 1000 word prologue, then a 3000 word scene, and I still haven't hit the point I decided somewhere back at the 5000 word mark would be the end of the chapter...
[3] And then Rufus and Tseng went gallivanting all over Junon. Damn it, Rufus. It's probably going to be another 2000 words before they have the conversation that is the entire point of this chapter.
[4] And now there are KH references everywhere, including a robot named Sora.
